Olivefooddoyou is featured on OnSTL

Every day since I have created my olivefoddoyou, something new and exhilarating happens. I can hardly contain my excitement and am often pondering and envisioning my future as a food blogger.

A few months ago a coworker asked the question, If money wasn’t an issue what would you do for a living and what are you passionate about?

I jokingly said – I would be a food blogger/restaurant reviewer. I never thought I would have the patience to actually have a blog or the writing skills to capture an audience. I love to share my experiences with people, and I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Then a few weeks later my husband had me in tears, trying to bring my passions to the surface. I wasn’t as competitive at work, I had lost the drive. My husband has hockey and I was starting to resent him because I didn’t have something I was passionate about like he did. I didn’t realize bringing friends and family together for a meal, whether at home or a restaurant was my passion, and am thankful to husband a friend for helping me realize it.

The next morning, I was talking with my soul sister and the food blogging came up again. She pointed out that people were coming into my work, just to see me and to ask for recommendations of where to go eat.
I thought about it for an hour or so and decided it could be fun and was something to do on my free time. By the end of the weekend, olivefoddoyou was created. I set up olivefooddoyou on Facebook, Twitter, blog.com, wordpress and tumblr.

I am absolutely loving the creative side behind writing and sharing my experiences in a truthful and meaningful way that captures an every day persons experience at a restaurant. I am not a chef. I am not a good critique. I am typical person who loves to eat delicious food and tell people about it.

The connections I have been making just amaze me. People really do love to eat, share, and talk about food.

I am now the food blogger for OnSTL. OnSTL is an online video magazine company. It was created for the people of St. Louis, about St Louis, by people who call St.Louis home!

I will continue to posts my blogs here for all my fellow bloggers who follow me, read my blogs, and only use WordPress. They will also be on www.onstl.com. I encourage you to check out the site, because it highlights everything St. Louis has to offer, and I guarantee you will learn something new about our great city that captivates you!

Here is my first radio/ video broadcast with OnSTL.

I am also working part time at a local place, called The Kitchen Conservatory. I am able to work along side chef’s from the local colleges, and restaurants while getting paid!
I am learning so much every shift I work, and have an absolute blast meeting the chef’s. It is neat to see the different styles of cooking! I have a lot of recipes I want to try, and it has given me ideas for my own recipes!

I hope you enjoy my blogs and can’t wait to write more!!
