Taco Tuesday a Delightful Combination

Taco Tuesday is a legit day, in case you did not know :). I partake in this glorious day because well I love tacos and I am certain that you do too! Who doesn’t ?!
My coworker and I had only been done with lunch for maybe an hour, when I was already thinking of what was for dinner. Food has become my obsession and I just love it loads. We laughed at funny ecards like this one.

After a few minutes of exchanging funnies, we both agreed that answer to the above was tacos and margaritas. We had both been to Mission Taco before and decided it was where we should go to feed our bellies, after a long day at work.

Mission Taco has two locations the loop and soulard. We went to the one in the loop. You can see the inside of the kitchen and the making of the tortilla chips when you walk by the restaurant.

It was a packed house! I arrived at Mission Taco before my friend and sat observing the surroundings. The music playing in the back ground was similar to the beach boys. Across from me on this bright blue wall were three mini surfboards. The bartender’s were having a great time mixing drinks, shaking in rhythm to the music, and getting their whole body into it.
There is a mural painted on the wall in one area of the dining room .

As I was exploring the drink and dinner menu, I noticed a drink called mission paloma, which has tequila and grapefruit in it. I felt like I was on a mission to have tacos and delicious adult beverages, and ordered it, since I also love grapefruit. It was tart and tasted just like a margarita but with bubbles (carbonation) in it. It would be perfect on a hot summer day!

I also ordered the queso dip to start. When I eat Mexican, queso is a must have. I never feel like I quite get enough sodium eating tacos and delicious Mexican food so I always make sure to get enough by getting queso with chips. 🙂 The chips are homemade here and you can taste the difference. I would not order the queso again, although it was tasty, it wasn’t for me. I would get the salsa and chips every time though. The spicy red salsa is really tasty and has a bite to it.

Our server was delightful, we were checked on often, he engaged us in small talk, and we never ran out of water.
We ordered 6 tacos to start with. My favorite taco to get here is the fried fish taco. So of course I ordered this one, but I also ordered the grilled fish and the chicken one. My friend ordered her favorites chicken, portobello and grilled fish as well. We ordered a side of Mexican corn to go with our tacos. We both put the corn on our tacos. The flavor compliments the tacos well. The tacos are non gmo corn tortillas made fresh (you can actually see them making them tortillas). The fish tacos come with this chipotle baja sauce. It is incredible and I wish I could put it on everything. It also comes with shredded cabbage and pico de gallo. The chicken tacos come with pickled onions and a mango salsa that is perfectly sweet and spicy. I chewed down, and it was glorious.
Through out our dinner, the music changed to different genres of music. It was a great mix that fit the vibe of the restaurant well.

Mission Taco should definetly be the first place that comes to mind on #tacotuesday and anytime you are in the mood for Mexican!
You will not be disappointed in the food, drinks or atmosphere.

Until I get hungry again,
