Pi Pizzeria

I cannot believe I have not blogged about Pi Pizzeria sooner.  I have a lot of favorites as most of you can tell by now, and for pizza this is my favorite in Saint Louis! I love PI for a lot of reasons, but it also holds a special place in my heart. My husband and I had our first meal together here, brought my family from England here after our wedding, and one of my friends met her future husband from PI in the loop when we had a happy hour here. So it is safe to say, I think their Pizza is magical but also what happens there is magical too ( haha).

Pi has five locations in Saint Louis now, Kirkwood, Downtown, Central West End, Chesterfield, and Delmar Loop.  Each location has its own style of decor, but the same great food!

Pi in Kirkwood is setup more like a house, and has a quaint covered outside patio, and awesome downstairs dining area as well as a carry out station. It has black and white checkered floors, and black and white photos on the tables. It has an older vintage feel to it!

Pi in the Loop has a carry out station as well and has a spacious outside sitting area! The first time I ate at Pi all of the servers were wearing shirts that said NO PROVEL on the back of them lol. It is a St. Louis inside joke.
Pi in the Central West End is our favorite because we can take our dog Charlie. The CWE is dog friendly and there are always cute dogs sitting outside on the patio with their owners! We took our family from England to this location! I love the decor here.  I love the different hanging lights and how they are not all the same.

Here is a picture of our sweet Charlie Boy just for your viewing pleasure : ). #dogcelebrity

Pi downtown is very modern and sheek! The bar is huge and it has a top of the line draft beer system. This location also has a few tables for outside seating!

Shortly after I had PI for the first time, President Barack Obama had PI when he was visiting St. Louis in 2008. I remember PI in the Loop having an hour to two hour waiting list for months after!!

I have had a many pizzas from Pi as well as appetizers, and the Western Addition is by far my favorite, and also my husbands. The first time we came here, years ago, Joe was not in love with his dish. I told him he should have gotten the Western Addition lol. Now he does and it is also his favorite.
It is a deep dish pizza, made with cornmeal crust, chunky tomatoe sauce, feta cheese, onions, mushrooms, spinach, garlic and ricotta. We always add either pepperoni or sopresata. The first time I had it my mouth was watering!! The tomatoes are juicy and and each bite is packed with flavor. Plus the cornmeal crust does not weigh you down like traditional deep dish crusts do.

I may or may not have been known to sit at the bar on a Friday night and eat an entire pizza. It is glorious.

They have delicious salads as well! The Bada Bing and BLT are my favorite ones. The Bada Bing has almonds, Gorgonzola, cherries and a yummy vinaigrette dressing. The BLT has red onions, pepperoncini, bacon, grape tomatoes and a peppercorn ranch dressing.

The onion dip and chips is really tasty too! It has carmalized onions and is served with Billy Goat Chips!

Pi also has vegan and gluten free options for you, as their thin crust cornmeal dough is vegan. They also have vegan meats and cheese. They can make the deep dish vegan as well but need 6 hours of notice to prepare it for you. Their chicken is hormone-free!!
PI also has a food truck and PI sticks! So of course I got the Western Addition and the Maplewood pie sticks at Food Truck Friday in Tower Grove Park.  They are like calzones!!The Maplewood PI Stick has mozz, spicy sausage, cherry pepper, fontina, basil.

I would share more pictures of food with you, but I am pretty set in my ways here with getting the Western Addition. The service is always great, its more than enough pizza for the price you pay, and the vibes at each location are different so depending on our mood we decide where to go, but no matter which location the food never disappoints.

I would love to hear from you when you go eattta some Pi, and tell me what delicious pizza you ordered and loved!!

Until my next Pizzeria,

Lisa Annie

XOXO

  1. Did I get the pleasure of dining with you and Joe on your first meal at Pi together? :):) Western Addition, no mushrooms is the BEST! Tony and I went to the CWE location on the day PNC shut down because of snow and had a great meal and delicious beers, such a great spot!
