It was a gorgeous summer day the first time I had Fozzie’s, and two summers later it has become my go to lunch place. Fozzie’s has two locations and both are super convenienent for me, which is awesome (#everythingisawesome). The Richmond Heights location is near our house and the Des Peres location is near my work. My coworkers have all been forced to try Fozzie’s, when it was to my turn to by lunch!!!
Richmond Heights: When the weather is nice, it is a sea of people sitting outside enjoying the weather and eating lunch. As you can see below, they have lovely big gardens for growing all their fresh herbs and veggies.
Des Peres: They have have their herbs growing in a box on the wall under special lights, and fun artwork on the walls. Joe and I love this idea for growing herbs indoors. We plan on doing this in the winter so our herbs can continue to grow.
🌞 First time my husband brought me here, I ordered the grilled cheese because I LOOOOOVE grilled cheese. The sandwiches are huge and I can almost never finish them. I always save half of the sandwich for a late night snack or lunch the next day. It is ideal when a friend wants to share a sandwich! Then we are both happy and it’s a cheap lunch! The grilled cheese has swiss, mozzarella, gouda, spinach and oven dried tomatoes served on wheat bread! The flavor of the tomatoes really comes out in the sandwich. I always order their potato crisps with parmesan cheese sprinkled all over! #sotasty
Another sandwich I have had at Fozzie’s is the Eggplant Parmesan, and believe it or not, I have never had an eggplant sandwich or even tried eggplant until Fozzie’s. My friend Christine, whom is full of life, Italian like me and a fellow food blogger with her amazing hubby (#flavonerds) went to the Des Peres location and had lunch. I guess I can say that I’m lucky my car got a flat tire at the mall, when we were trying to spend all our money. Since my car had to be dropped off at the dealership to get a new tire, the only money we spent was on lunch! Our bank accounts thanked us : ).
We shared an eggplant parmesan sandwich with parmesan chips and two shakes. It was incredible and so flavorful. The shake names had us laughing. Mine was called Lover’s Lane, it had strawberry ice-cream, mint leaves and fudge. It was pretty dreamy. <3 I don’t normally get shakes, but I am glad I did here! It was really good. Christine ordered the Clusterfluff (haha). It had chocolate ice-cream, marshmallow, peanut butter, granola, and fudge.
Eggplant Parmesan: Baby Spinach, tomatoe sauce, and mozzarella toasted on a hoagie.

My husbands favorite thing to get at Fozzie’s, which he gets 90% of the time, is the Gyro sandwich. I don’t have a picture for you, but hopefully the description helps you picture it! It has feta, kalamata olives, pepperocini, fresh tzatziki, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lamb or chicken on pita!
B.A.B.L.T is a seriously delicious 1/2 lb bacon, lettuce, tomatoe, and roasted garlic mayo sandwich on sourdough. Just look at all this meat candy.
I really liked the flavor of the meat on the Italian Beef sandwich. It is Chicago style with peppers all over it. I liked it better when I picked all the peppers off. I guess I am more of a plain jane when it comes to eating Italian beef. If you love the Chicago style, then this sammie is for you.
If you are looking for a new lunch spot to have a fresh delicious sandwich add Fozzie’s to your list. I would love to hear from you when you try it! If you have already been, I would love to hear from you as well! Tell me what your favorite sandwich is and I will make sure to try it next time I go!
Until my next lunch time pick,
Lisa Annie
